🎤 Music Recognition
EchoMusic features built-in music recognition with both microphone input and system audio capture modes, helping you quickly identify songs playing around you.
Recognition Modes
Microphone Recognition
Ideal for identifying music in your environment:
- Click "Music Recognition" on the navigation bar
- Ensure microphone permission is granted
- Hold your device close to the audio source
- Click the "Start Recognition" button
- Wait a few seconds for the result
Use cases:
- Cafes, malls, restaurants, and other public spaces
- Music playing at a friend's gathering
- Background music in TV shows and movies
System Audio Capture
Ideal for identifying audio playing on your computer:
- Click "Music Recognition" on the navigation bar
- Switch to the "System Audio" tab
- Click "Start Recognition"
- The system captures the currently playing audio for identification
Use cases:
- Identifying songs playing in web pages
- Identifying background music in videos
- Identifying songs heard in live streams
Recognition Results
On successful recognition, you'll see:
- Song Name — The matched song title
- Artist — Performer information
- Cover — Album cover art
- Action Options:
- 🎵 Play Now
- ➕ Add to Play Queue
- ❤️ Add to Favorites
- 📋 Copy song info
Recognition History
All recognition records are saved locally for easy review:
- View history on the "Music Recognition" page
- Support for clearing individual or all history records
- History is stored locally only and is never uploaded to the cloud
Tips
| Tip | Description |
|---|---|
| Reduce ambient noise | In microphone mode, get as close to the audio source as possible |
| Ensure stable network | Recognition requires an internet connection |
| Choose the right segment | Aim for the chorus section for higher recognition accuracy |
| Moderate volume | Too loud or too quiet may affect accuracy |
WARNING
Microphone recognition requires microphone permission. On macOS, the system will prompt for permission on first use — select "Allow".
Privacy
- Audio captured during recognition is used solely for fingerprint matching
- Audio clips are not saved after recognition completes
- All data transmission is through encrypted channels
